Meet the People - Part 2

Monday, March 23, 2015

My name is Louise Parsonage. I joined Wyre Forest CAB as a volunteer in 2009, when I took a break in full-time work to consider what I wanted to do next career-wise. I was attracted to volunteering in the advice sector as I enjoy talking to people, researching and working as part of a team.

Although I was nervous initially, I was made to feel very welcome and soon found that my confidence grew. I realised that I have the skills required to be an adviser and found the experience very rewarding. After six months as a generalist adviser, I was fortunate to be offered a job as a debt caseworker at the bureau. Since then, I have had a few different roles here and love the work that I do. I am a more fulfilled, confident and outgoing person as a result of joining the CAB and would recommend volunteering as being a very worthwhile thing to do.
